Exploring Canberra’s Best Mountain Bike Trails

A few weeks ago I took a riding trip to the capital city of Australia. Canberra is often called a boring city, but if you have a mountain bike, that couldn’t be further from the truth!

THIS CITY IS AWESOME!

There are so many awesome mountain bike parks with epic trails right in the heart of the city, which make Canberra a must-visit location for mountain bikers.

My YouTuber friend Froff had planned to ride 3 different locations in Canberra and asked if I wanted to tag along. So I packed the e-bike and hit the road.

Majura Pines Mountain Bike Trails

The first stop on the list was Majura Pines and the first trail we rode had a spicy picnic table drop that gets the adrenalin pumping. Sadly that was the only exciting part of the trail. I found the rest a little bit boring, but it is a great green-flow trail for beginners.

Over the other side of Majura was where the spicy trails were. One of these was called Rock Lobster and I think it was my favourite trail in all of Canberra. It was a great mix of flow and tech. A high-speed trail with grippy berms, chunky rock slabs and jumps to send.

Tuggeranong Mountain Bike Trails

Our second location of the trip was Tuggeranong Pines. This trail system is entirely hand built by volunteers. The laps are short and are great for sessioning. The highlight of Tuggeranong has to be the jumps. There are many of them, in all shapes and sizes. There is something for everyone. And if you head a little further up the hill there are some really chunky steep steep sections to explore.

Mt Stromlo Mountain Bike Trails

The final stop was at Canberra’s biggest mountain bike park, Mt Stromlo! This Australian mountain bike park has a little bit of everything. There are skills areas with sketchy skinnys and seesaws, flow trails and intense double black downhill trails.

My favourite feature was the curved wall ride.

Check out the video and see for yourself.
